Laboratory Technician - Sterility

We currently have a permanent, full-time vacancy for a Laboratory Technician in our Sterility department. Working hours would be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday; weekend work on a rotational basis will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of pharmaceutical and medical device products for sterility runs
  • Routine sterility testing in a half suit isolator in a Grade D cleanroom (membrane filtration, direct inoculation and SteriTest® methods)
  • Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the methods supplied, in a manner to obtain accurate results
  • Collating data for laboratory records for the preparation of reports and for compliance with quality procedures for work performed
  • Inputting of results on our laboratory information management system
  • Undertaking routine basic laboratory duties and/or clerical duties unsupervised, documenting work in compliance with company procedures
  • Monitoring and care of equipment
  • Working in compliance with GMP, GLP and the policies and procedures of the company’s Quality system

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at level C or equivalent, including Maths and English; degree in microbiology
  • Working experience of sterility testing
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing (cGMP) and Good Laboratory (cGLP) Practices
  • Experience and knowledge in pharmaceutical microbiological techniques in an aseptic environment
  • Experience working in isolators or glove boxes desirable

Salary and Reward Package:

  • Salary from £20,000 - £23,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
