Contract Testing Services
Wickham Laboratories Ltd has been involved in contract testing services in various capacities over the past 50 years; because of this we have gained scientific experience in a range of testing across several industries, including food and nutraceuticals, bioanalytical services, veterinary diagnostics and vaccine production.
Each of these experiences was a valuable educational exercise and it has provided us with a unique skillset and a strong scientific background that we now apply to our specialised microbiology and toxicology testing services.
Our Hoeford Point site, with approximately 4,000 square meters (42,000 square feet) of space is segregated into independent laboratory areas, providing a wide range of testing services. We operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) as well as to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines.
In addition to the discrete laboratories we also have dedicated facilities for sample booking and media preparation. Our sample receipt team utilises systems operating to FDA 21CFR part 11 which ensures safe handling and full traceability of samples, and the majority of the media used to test these samples is prepared and processed by our in-house media preparation department.
At Wickham Laboratories, we operate a secure site, with an onsite security team 24/7. We are also equipped with a team of in-house qualified service engineers, enabling a self-sufficient facility preventing service disruptions.
We are regularly audited by the MHRA and FDA, specialising in quality control, validation and safety testing services for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Over the past few years, we have also incorporated stability storage capabilities, expanded our media preparation and sterility facilities, and developed strategic partnerships to enable us to offer a full suite of medical device biocompatibility and safety testing.
Additionally, as we continuously seek ways in which to improve our existing service offerings, we maintain a distinct toxicology in vitro section dedicated to the development, validation and refinement of new and evolving in vitro testing methods and technologies.
